CITIZENM

The art director of CitizenM, affordable luxury hotel chain based in multiple cities, asked me to design and illustrate some wallpaper for their ironing room in Amsterdam. They have a specific room where people can go to iron their clothes, and they wanted to make it a nice illustrated pattern themed around ironing, without it being too obvious or on the nose. I made some assets for this projects, some different ironing bottoms and iron shapes and with those I made a wallpaper pattern. I wanted it to, if you looked at it first, to look like flowers or butterflies, but on a second look suprise people because it is actually made out of  illustrated irons!  It was a really nice experiment to design these and I also got to take a look in their beautiful hotel. It will soon feature this wallpaper!
