A project I did about sexual abuse for the #youtoo program. This program connects artists with people that have gone through a negative sexual experience.  I've sat together with two people and created two images. For one I created a poster that reflected her dark road to newfound happiness. Happiness and depression are two themes I work with a lot, so it was really nice to be able to visualise someones elses view about this theme. For the other person, Marjolein Geurts van Keesel, I created this small fold-out zine, meant to be able to carried within your pocket when you go to a medical exam. In the conversation with Marjolein we realized that we wanted to make a tool to help people express their needs in a conversation with their doctor, dentist, or other medical practicioners, to help victims not to be re-traumatized and feel comfortable. This project was very open and originally I was just asked to create 1 image by Marjoleins story, but in conversation with Marjolein I found out that what she really wanted was to be seen and heard and something to help her do so. So we designed this tool together! At the moment, we want to print this in a bigger volume so we can share these books with everyone, so if you know someone who likes to support this project, please email me.
