BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT CARDs

A fun collection of riso printed birth announcement (geboortekaartje) cards! 

For little Fae, I illustrated a birth card with, of course, a tiny fairy!  Her name immediately made me think of something magical and about a little dreamworld. I drew a cute little character surrounded by growing flowers and printed the cards with the riso printer I have at my studio. 

I also made a matching A3 risoprint poster to hang in her room, so the fairy illustration on the card could also live on as a piece of art on the wall. I really enjoy designing birth cards, the illustrations are often very personal and I want to make sure the little ones get a magical and colorful start! :) 

For Jonas, I illustrated a special card with a little cut-out.  I wanted to frame the inside so I made the flowers follow the cut-out border. I can't show the inside here (privacy reasons!) but when you open it it's a full illustration.  This is a special folded cut-out version of a normal A5 card. 

Another card for Floris, again a simple A5 card with a front and back, not folded. The parents wanted something with animals, preferably birds! I made five little birds to show to whole family. Two parents with their little one in the middle, and two flying birds to signify the little siblings. In total a cute family of five. 

I also really liked the two extra sketches I made! One of which I re-used for another illustration for my own nephew. 

A simple card for Sonny Robert, with rounded corners. A little cartoon boy that winks at you! 

And a card for Kristian, a little bit of a fancier folded card with a cut-out rocket. The parents wanted something with space, but also a traditional Ikat pattern to signify their heritage. I combined the two, space in the middle, pattern as a border and on the inside (not visible because of privacy).
