CLIMATE COMEDY NIGHT

Every year, there's an event in Utrecht called the 'Climate Comedy night.' This is an event to raise awareness about climate change, but also to make it feel less depressing, since it's a dark and saddening topic. Combining that sad topic with something fun: comedy! Famous dutch comedians perform that night, with jokes about the world & the climate. I was asked to re-design their identity, since they wanted a complete change. They really wanted both topics to come across: the more depressing topic of climate change, but also, good fun & having a laugh together! I love balancing more serious topics with light-hearted design, so I took that challenge on. After sending over a sketch deck filled with graphic shapes, smiley symbols & protest signs, the final design turned into this! A balance between laughing and crying faces, a little earth mascot, and other symbols that represent climate change. All colorful and with a good dose of risograph texture.
